What I'm playing: Destiny 2: Shadowkeep
My current goal is to achieve the title Undying before the next season drops on December 10 and the title is no longer available. But that means doing a lot of activities that I normally don't.
Undying:
The new seasonal content, Undying provided an interesting new activity - Vex Offensive. The enemies could be found on the "new" patrol location, the Moon, as well as the separate activity. The story build-up seemed intense, with the Tower social space changing every week to visually represent progression of the season.
Unfortunately, the climax ended in a fizz. All that happened was a boss swap for the already repetitive Vex Offensive activity. I enjoyed the accessibility of getting decent weapons. One thing pointed out by the community is that Undying is often associated with Shadowkeep, but in truth, a lot of the quality features was in the larger content drop and not Undying.
With Season of Dawn on the horizon, I hope to see a greater amount of content then this first Year 3 season.
What I would love to see is not seasonal content, but adjustments to already existing activities. There is an overwhelming selection of activities to participate in outside of the main three (Gamit, Strikes - now even replaced by Ordeal Nightfalls - and Crucible). With Menagerie, Black Armory Forges and now Vex Offensive, I rarely see myself revisiting the old activities. They are stale with little variety - the main difference per session simply being enemy/boss swaps.
A good question to consider is what made me want to keep playing Prisoner of Elders in D1? It is the same enemy rotation mechanic, but still enjoyable. Additionally, why do I continue to play strikes?
